Then-Senate President Cesare Merzagora inaugurated the building on June 28, 1969, remarking on its civic utility.
The former post office is now converted to municipal offices but still retains an austere architecture, measured against its original purpose: a line of severity broken only by the entrance front, where the curved wall softens the structure, distinguished at the corners by bricks interspersed with stringcourses.
